RSS has 3 different things. The original one is the (RDF Site Summary RSS 0.9) which was initially developed by Dan Libby for the Netscape. Later in some months another version was built which was called as Rich Site Summary or sometimes called as RSS 0.91. In course of time people lost interest without any owner. When people started using more of the RSS feeds, Winer started claiming that this was his own. Then the adaptive version was created which was called as RSS 0.91 for Userland. In the year 2005 Microsoft, developed RSS.
RSS is a tool which is used in web for publishing the latest news and other articles. This tool uses the XML for mot for designing. For example, this tool is used in news such as BBC or CNN or any local news which are viewed and reviewed by the users using the web. In recent times, since it is used by many users there is a lot of web traffic. Even for entertainment also this tool is used. Now a days, even small business also have RSS feed updates.
This is proved by this example. If someone is a fan of a game and then he/she wants to know about the game and any associated player then they can even upload any videos or photos. Later on this can be viewed by others for free. There is also another facility of tracking the changes which is also done very easily.
Working of RSS
The first step to use is to download content management system software which is read by the XML format. This contains the title, summary and a link related to the feed. Even videos, photos and multimedia can also be inserted along with the text. Some of the additional features like podcasting, picture casting and photo casting can also be inserted but it is not necessary to view it.
For the accessibility of the feed one should have the feed reader or the aggregator. This is because the aggregator searches for updates in all the websites associated with it.
Making of RSS feed
The making of the RSS feed is very simple if one knows the HTML coding. If not, then one can easily go to a blog and sign up which provides free coding for free. There are hundreds of such coding available in website. Most essential is that the RSS feed should contain an "item" and also which version one is using. The "item" should contain a title, short description or outline of the article and then URL or the location of the summary. One should be careful in choosing the title. We can choose which is related to the article and hence attract the readers.
The "item" comprises of HTML tags. It should start with an opening tag then followed by an item tag which is the label and then description and finally end tag.
Examples:
medical receipt
the list of medicines and the details
http://medical receipt/India
