Radio has been a much sought-after avenue for product marketing with many people willing to pay lots of money for space on the radio. Amid the entertainment, latest and favourite songs streamed from the radio, there are short and sweetly-worded ads at regular intervals.

There were times when the radio held more loyalty than other media, also in advertising. But with the advent of technology, TV, internet and other visual media have taken over the chunk of advertising. Thus, radio has tried to improve their methods.

One way is linking radio to the internet. Website owners understood that music was a good addition on their sites. First, companies started dishing out downloadable forms of music such as mp3 on their sites. This meant that surfers would be interested in visiting these sites, which in turn would help sales.

But, this method also had a problem as music download in this manner was mostly illegal and the music companies, musicians and performing artists would lose a lot of money.

This is where internet music streaming comes into play. This is gaining in popularity and through this streaming, you cannot download songs. It is thus protected from piracy.

For radio streaming on the internet, you can adopt one of these methods.

Your blog or website can stream a radio program and to do this, find an appropriate affiliate program. Through the program, which is usually free, a program can be streamed on your site.

You benefit from this service because your site gets audio content, updated and new for every visit. You don’t have to necessarily bother about the update as it happens automatically but what you have to do is subscribe to an online radio station. When the link is published on your page, visitors can listen to it.

The next method to get radio streaming is using mp3. For this, you can upload your music files to a server and then provide the links on your page. Open the link and listen to the song. However, this format, the mp3, is downloadable and so could run into legal trouble if there is unauthorized downloading.

Another method is uploading organized playlists. These m3u files can only be listened to if the visitor is online. But putting it up is a complicated process and here’s how you can:

* Make a link for your wma or mp3 file by either uploading it to a server or using a link on which the song is already present.
* Put the server link path on the text editor along with the http://. Do this for all the songs or music link you want to include in the playlist.
* Save the links on the playlist as .m3u files.
* Put this playlist or .m3u file on your server or directory.
* Using html editor, the m3u file should be embedded. Here, you can also choose autoplay and volume.

In this method, after all the instructions are followed, your site will have music for every visitor. Depending on the listener’s choice, the songs can be skipped or repeated.
